If you need to know how to take your texture and fill a section of your track click HERE!

Lets begin, open your displacement map in Photoshop

resize your image to 2000x2000. On the top click the image tab then image size
The best way i know how to put textures on is layers. Lets start with the first, the offtrack textures. To make a layer, click the layer tab then new, and then name your layer
Now fill Layer 1 with your off track textures. To do this click edit then fill then select your textures. if you don't know how to make a custom pattern please review my toot making a custom pattern.
Now make another new layer and name it.
Turn off the visibility of layer 1, we will need the outline of the track on the background to apply the on track textures. To do this just click the eyeball to the left of layer one.
Select the paint brush tool and size it to almost as wide as the track.
now trace the entire track with the brush make sure your on layer 2
Now select the color with the magic wand

Next, erase all of the color

This part should be done. This will blend the on and off track textures nicely. to do this, press the select tab at the top then feather. 10 is about normal. Also, after feathering the selection, if you right click in the track and then select save selection you may reload the track marque (the white dotted lines around the track) any time in the future. This is helpful if you want to change the on track textures

Now fill with your ontrack textures.

This is as far as i'll take you. Anything else you might want to add is up to you Don't forget to save this as a psd file. then flatten the image, and resave as a tga file. Next, we'll move on to max. please review the max toot.
